VOTERS?in Petersfield’s Bell Hill ward will be making their way to Penns Place to choose their new district councillor.

The area’s usual polling station, the Air Cadets headquarters on Beckham Lane, is unavailable and the council offices are the best available alternative.

The election is due to take place on Thursday, March 8, with polling between 7am and 10pm.

It will be contested by Steve Elder (Labour), Jim Makin (UKIP), Jamie Matthews (Independent), David Podger (Liberal Democrat) and Clive Shore (Conservative).

The deadline to apply for postal votes has now passed but applications for proxy votes can still be received by 5pm next Wednesday, February 28.
