A 32-year-old Wrecclesham woman who plied two schoolboys with drugs and alcohol before performing a sex act on one walked free from Guildford Crown Court last Friday. Susan Robertson of Middlefields, Wrecclesham, smoked cannabis, took cocaine and drank beer and vodka with two 15-year- old friends, who cannot be named for legal reasons, at her flat. Judge Michael Addison sentenced Robertson to a nine-month prison sentence, which was suspended for two years due to "exceptional circumstances". These include the possibility of her son being placed into care if Robertson was incarcerated. Robertson was also handed a year-long supervision order and put on the sex offenders register for 10 years. Pleading guilty to supplying cannabis and allowing her premises to be used to smoke it, Robertson also admitted sexual activity with a child and possession of cocaine. She was cleared of further charges of supplying cocaine and causing or inciting the second boy to engage in sexual activity following two trials at Guildford Crown Court. Judge Addison said: "You arranged for two boys aged 15 to spend a night at your house with the consent of their parents. "By mutual arrangement you purchased a great deal of drink and the three of you became drunk. "This was clearly disgraceful conduct on your part and conduct which I am satisfied you are now thoroughly ashamed of. These offences are so serious that only a custodial sentence can be justified the reason being that young people need to be protected from this sort of conduct. "Having said that, I am just able to find that there are exceptional circumstances to suspend the operation of the prison sentence. "It does appear to me that this was an isolated incident in your history and an unusual one," he concluded.
