THE Secretary of State for the Environment is being asked to intervene over the latest planning applications for Undershaw.

The proposals for a new extension for a school at the former home of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle have resulted in Undershaw Preservation Trust founder John Gibson appealing to the Secretary of State to "call in" the case.

His move comes after preservation body English Heritage lodged objections to the plans by the DFN Foundation, which wants to build an extension at the grade two listed building.
