FOR two stalwarts of Aldershot FC, Tuesday's historic meeting between the Shots and Manchester United in the fourth round of the Carling Cup will stoke more memories than most.

Joe Jopling and George Way were both heavily involved the last time United turned out at the Rec in the 1970 League Cup, the former at the heart of the Shots' defence and the latter in the directors' box, as the likes of George Best, Bobby Charlton, Denis Law and Nobby Stiles romped to a 3-1 victory.
