THE good fortune of a snooker competition winner ran out last Friday night when two trophies were stolen from him shortly after he won them.
Snooker star Dennis Taylor had attended the event to present the awards.
Police say that Mr Donnison put the two trophies by his feet while he was waiting for his bus and a number of people passed by, including a group of youths.
When his bus arrived he went to pick up his trophies, valued at £200, only to discover that they had gone missing.
Inspector Gerry Thorne from Whitehill Police Station said: "It is possible that a group of youths took them as a prank.
"We would ask anyone to come forward who knows of anyone who has been showing off a snooker trophy and claiming that they have won it.
"It really is of no use to anyone else so we would really like this returned."
Anyone with any information is urged to contact Whitehill Police Station on 0845 045 45 45.
p A report of the presentation night appears on the sports page.
