POLICE have stepped up patrols in the Farnham and Churt area after a horse was sprayed with paint while others had their manes and tails cut and plaited. Officers were made aware of the bizarre incidents by Surrey Horsewatch and have urged horse owners to report any suspicious activity to the police. One horse reportedly had its flank and shoulder painted purple, while around a dozen other horses have had their hair cut or braided in fields near Churt. A spokesman for Horsewatch added the incidents had been "unnerving" for those involved. For full story, see this week's Farnham Herald.
