WEYDON’S School’s year 11 football team were victorious as they walked away with first place in the League and Cup double.
According to staff, they played “brilliantly” as a team and beat Tomlinscote School 2 - 1. The goals were scored by Jack Cantwell and Ellison Rogers, and man of the match was Kai Nash.
The match was supported by parents, staff and fellow students from Weydon School, who were delighted to witness great team-playing and a momentous win.
Stuart Maginnis, deputy headteacher, said: “This is a culmination of five great years together. The team have played over 75 fixtures and worked so hard to win the League and the Cup.
“The boys thoroughly deserved to go out on a high and I wish them all many congratulations on a great win.”
