An up-market restaurant without a menu in Wrecclesham has been included in the Michelin Guide for 2024.

Maison was opened in March 2022 by husband and wife team Lornette Piette-Valentine and chef Ben Piette, in the 15th century Wrecclesham House off the A325.

The couple live on the first floor, and offer a small selection of tables for an exclusive dining experience below – as well as a ‘chef’s table’.

Ben is French and classically trained, and the cuisine is modern European.

On the exclusive Wrecclesham House eatery, the Michelin Guide states: “In this lovely 15th century red-brick house, chef Ben Piette and his wife Lornette found the ideal setting for their dream project.

“They live upstairs and have converted the downstairs to serve their guests, but view the whole thing as part of their home.

“The constantly changing surprise tasting menu features plenty of local ingredients in assured dishes which have a French base.

“Sit at one of just a handful of tables or book ‘Ben’s Table’ in front of the open kitchen; here you can bring in your own ingredient which he will use to create an extra course.

“Lornette treats guests as if they were old friends, which helps add to the ‘dinner party’ feel.”

There is no menu, with Ben preparing whatever is seasonal and available, but the restaurant does cater for dietary requirements.
