LONG-serving Witley Parish Council clerk Fiona Fox is relocating and applicants have been invited to fill the vacancy.

Parish council chairman Patrick Stewart said: “We are very sad to see her go but we all wish her every success and happiness in her new employment as town clerk and finance officer of Warminster Town Council, in Wiltshire.”

Fiona joined Witley Parish Council a little over seven years ago, having previously been clerk of Artington Parish Council, a fraction of the size of Witley.

Fiona has since gained her CiLCA qualification of which had resulted in councillors becoming “more informed” Mr Stewart added.

“The parish has been well cared for. We know she is sad to leave the area having made many friends within the community, but Warminster is now almost on her doorstep in Wiltshire since her wedding last summer, and she can spend more quality time with her new family and Kipper her rescue greyhound.”

The post is being advertised with a new clerk hopefully on board by summer.

Assistant clerk David Ralf and Greta Jennings will hold the fort with a locum clerk Joanna Cadman, who is joining Witley Parish Council later this month.
