THE driver of a white Ford Transit rental van appears to have had a miraculous escape following a head-on crash with an HGV on the A32 Gosport Road on Wednesday morning.

According to an eyewitness, the incident, which happened south of Farringdon at 9.50am, involved a van, travelling toward Alton, which pulled out into the path of a large transporter carrying farm machinery.

The force of the collision sent the van flying into the air before coming to rest in a field.
