VANDALS have wiped out a year's harvest at the Bells Piece activities and life skills centre for adults with learning disabilities. Staff and clients were reduced to tears after discovering that 21 raised beds had been trashed last Friday night in an enclosed and secluded plot at the centre's paddock off Hale Road. Rhubarb plants, a crop of potatoes and plants and flowers lovingly nurtured by clients on the horticultural art and life skills programme were destroyed. All had been ripped up and strewn round the paddock, while sunflowers had been broken off, never to flower. A large Victorian wheelbarrow on the drive, planted with flowers, had also been overturned.
