AN attack on graves in a cemetery in Godalming has led to nine headstones being smashed.

The desecration, which is estimated to have caused £4,000 damage, happened between Monday and Tuesday last week, when the gravestones and war grave memorials at Eashing Cemetery in Franklyn Road, known locally as the Ockford Ridge Cemetery, were smashed.
