FARNHAM residents will get their chance to grill Esso bosses on plans to lay a new aviation fuel pipeline through the town this weekend at Wrecclesham Community Centre.

An exhibition of Esso’s plans will be held at the village hall in Greenfield Road on Saturday, April 7, from 11am to 5pm, where people will be able to talk to members of the Esso team about the proposals.

The fuel giant proposes to replace around 55 miles of underground pipe between its Fawley refinery on the south coast and its Hounslow storage facility serving Heathrow airport.

It has launched a consultation about possible options, including proposed routes through the countryside south of Farnham and skirting the northern edge of the town centre. Details at www.slpproject.co.uk.
