VILLAGERS in Bentley and Binsted have spoken of their concern that the proposed 4,000-home development at Whitehill and Bordon won't be an eco-friendly town in terms of traffic generation.

The fear is that people living in what some have dubbed "eco-heaven", with their environmentally friendly houses, town centre and new inner relief road, could impose an "eco-hell" on the 5,500 people living in the surrounding villages.

And they say that Hampshire County Council proposals to mitigate the impact of thousands of additional vehicles on the highways network have been based on unreliable and unproven data.
