THE chance to enjoy the glowing autumn colours at Ramster Garden near Chiddingfold was snapped up by many first-time visitors at the weekend.

Ramster is already celebrated for its spectacular display of rhododendrons and azaleas in in spring, but it is now on the map as one of the best places to see autumn colour.

The garden, which boasts a fiery avenue of 100 year-old maples, is open until Sunday, October 23.

Rosie Glaister, who runs the 20-acre garden along with members of her family spanning three generations, said: “We are delighted to see so many new visitors coming to Ramster to see the autumn colour. Ramster is well-renowned for its fabulous rhododendrons as a spring garden, but in the autumn it is equally as stunning. Our avenue of maples is stopping everyone in their tracks especially when the sun is shining, they completely light up with the fiery reds and oranges, it’s magical.”
