BUSINESSES that serve Farnham’s many visitors are being asked to take part in a survey to help guide future promotion of the town as a destination for day and longer visits by people who have never been here before.

The survey has been devised by the Farnham Visitors’ Forum, which was set up more than 15 years ago with “the promotion of Farnham and its surroundings as a lively and welcoming place for everyone” as its mission statement.

The online survey, which will take no longer than five minutes for respondents to complete, is the first stage in an ongoing project which will help guide the town’s decision makers – be they statutory, commercial or voluntary – in improving facilities for residents and visitors.

The survey, which is composed of just six questions, covers the factors that business proprietors feel are most important to their actual and potential customers – factors that only those in the front line of meeting the public on an everyday basis will be aware of.

The forum hopes that as many people as possible will complete the survey to make it as truly representative of a wide range of respondent opinion as possible.

Located on the town council’s website, the questions can be found by visiting farnhamvisitorsforum.org.uk/questionnaire-2016.

Responses need to be returned as soon as possible so that the forum members can discuss the issues raised at their meeting on September 22.

Forum chairman Andrew Lodge said: “We hope as many businesses as possible will take part in this survey and help inform the ongoing process so that together we can make Farnham an even better place for everyone to visit.”
