FARNHAM care home provider Right at Home ran the launch session of the new Vitamin G project at the Woodlarks Centre in the Bourne, which was a great success.

Woodlarks fundraiser Gill Butle led the team on a tour of the garden which has been specially developed for older people to enjoy.

They admired the raised beds, the well-turned-tabletop, the willow obelisks and the spectacular pergola. The garden tour was followed by coffee and mince pies in the Woodlarks Centre’s activity room as they started work on their Christmas centre pieces.

Some of the visitors had never attempted a centre piece before whereas some people clearly had a lot of expertise and everyone swapped tips and ideas in between friendly chat. Right At Home are planning to run regular dementia-friendly sessions in the new year and anyone over 65 with an interest in gardening is welcome to attend.
