“In 2010 we had a volunteer force of 64 drivers, but in successive years this has reduced to just 39 volunteer drivers,” said Michael Sheppard.
The drivers take those they help to doctor, hospital dental and chiropody appointments; to the bank, and to visit friends. They also help with the collection of prescriptions.
If people can’t drive themselves, get public transport or ask a friend or family member to take them to an appointment, then Headley Voluntary Care can help.
Anyone willing to make one or two trips per month should call Mr Sheppard on 01428 712274 or e-mail [email protected].
