HASLEMERE and District Scout Association needs a volunteer to act as appointments secretary for its Scout groups.

John Stone, Haslemere and District Scouts spokesman, said: “This is a very important role.

“It will involve looking after the administration aspects of the appointment of adults, setting up interviews where necessary and overseeing the associated checks.

“All of this can be carried out in the comfort of your own home and will take, on average two-three hours a week. You will receive plenty of help and support.”

You would need to have good organising and communication skills; access to the internet; experience of online database updating and searching; and an empathy with the aims of Scouting.
