A FARNHAM ‘grot spot’ has been transformed thanks to the joint efforts of the community.

Representatives from Post 19, Heath End Community Gardeners, the Farnham in Bloom Community Group and Farnham Town Council worked hard to clear an overgrown raised flower bed and seating area in East Street.

Once the area had been cleared, the volunteers replanted the bed with a mix of seasonal bedding plants and shrubs for year-round interest.

Stephen Hill, the town council’s lead member for community enhancement, said: “This was a fantastic project and I would like to thank John Ely and the Farnham in Bloom Community Group for making it happen.

“I understand that many passers by made appreciative comments about the volunteers’ work. They have turned an unloved area into somewhere that is a lot nicer and will be enjoyed by many. This partnership is a good example of how Farnham in Bloom can enhance a community.”

There are many community projects and opportunities for people to get involved with making Farnham a better place. Anybody who would like more information should email [email protected], or call 01252 712667.
