AS 2018 began on Monday, a group of 46 hardy individuals braved the inclement weather to join the 10th annual New Year’s Day charity walk around Lasham airfield.
Setting off in wet and windy conditions from the Lasham Gliding Society clubhouse, they walked or ran the three-mile circuit around the airfield – a gallant exercise which, along with the tombola, raised a fine £411 for Canine Partners, a charity that trains assistance dogs to transform the lives of people with disabilities.
According to organiser Marjorie Hobby, the best time of 18 minutes 19 seconds was recorded by Julie.
Marjorie expressed her thanks to everyone who supported the event despite the bad weather.
