A HASLEMERE woman has warned car owners to be on their guard after her car was stolen by eagle-eyed thieves last week.
The owner of a blue X5 BMW, who does not wish to be named, believes thieves watched her parking at The Herons Leisure Centre on Wednesday of last week.
The woman, who was taking children to the swimming pool at around 6-50 pm, thinks she was then followed from the car park to the pool, where she placed her belongings and the car keys in a secured locker.
Returning to the locker some 30 minutes later, she found it had been forced open, her keys stolen, and the car gone.
The police retrieved the undamaged car in Guildford after the driver activated a tracker device.
"It was a pretty frightening experience and serves as a warning to other people," said the driver.
