NUMBERS may have been down for the Horrific Hallowe’en parade through Haslemere on October 31, but the costumes more than made up for it.

Haslemere mayor John Robini led the procession from Haslemere Museum at 4pm, which finished with a treats all round in Charter Walk.

The popular annual event is run by Visit Haslemere and Haslemere Museum.

Families bring in their pumpkins and then take part in a workshop at the museum before the parade.

Museum education officer Kay Topping said: “The event took place in the spookily decorated Lecture Hall, where visitors could carve their pumpkins and do a number of arts and crafts activities.

“There was also a spooky cafe run by museum volunteers with lots of cakes specially decorated for the Hallowe’en theme.

“At four o’clock visitors gathered for the parade and at the end of the parade at Charter Walk participants were rewarded with a treat.

“Although there were a few less people than in previous years, great fun was had by everyone who attended and the costumes were brilliant.”
