SOUTH East Water has finished a £170,000 project to lay 90 metres of new water main across Tilford Road almost a month early.
During the work, a temporary road closure was in place for three weeks followed by temporary traffic lights.
Jeremy Dufour, project manager at South East Water, said: “I would like to thank local residents, businesses and motorists for their patience and co-operation while work took place on this important scheme.
“The new water main will improve the capacity of the water network as the community grows, secure future water supplies, improve water pressure and reduce the number of bursts which can be disruptive to local residents.”
The scheme formed part of the company’s £424 million investment programme taking place between 2015 and 2020.
