SOUTH West Trains has stressed Waterloo services to and from Haslemere will remain open over the festive period – with the exception of the usual closure on Christmas Day and Boxing Day – before reopening again on Tuesday, December 27.
There will be no engineering works affecting journeys from Haslemere between Christmas and New Year. In addition, South West Trains will operate late-night services on New Year’s Eve.
An SWT spokesman said: “Although we appreciate closing the railway for two days over Christmas may cause inconvenience to some passengers – it is typically the quietest time of the year for travelling.”
Engineers will be working over the holiday to deliver another slice of the £800million Waterloo upgrade.
