HASLEMERE'S traders have accused Waverley of "shirking its duties" by hiding its decision to axe the traditional free Christmas car parking scheme in its budget plans for the coming year.

They have now called on the borough council to think again and reverse its decision which, claims the Haslemere and District Chamber of Trade and Commerce, will "have an adverse effect on business prospects".
