WAVERLEY'S chief executive has defended the council's borough housing officer after an attack over his role in promoting the stock transfer of council homes.

Christine Pointer said she did not agree with the allegations, made by Liberal Democrat prospective parliamentary candidate for SW Surrey Simon Cordon, who complained to Waverley that housing officers might have personal interests in the stock transfer going ahead.
