SHELTERED housing tenants could lose their concessionary television licences as part of Waverley Borough Council's review of council accommodation.
The plans, which were discussed by Waverley's community overview and scrutiny committee, are to abolish the concessionary licences for tenants aged under 75 and community wardens of sheltered housing schemes.
The proposal follows the recommendation by Waverley officers to let available accommodation for the elderly to young people.
Under current television licensing laws, if just one unit in sheltered accommodation is let to a younger person, all the elderly residents under 75 years would lose their concessionary licences costing £5, which are paid for by the council.
A report by Waverley officers proposed each scheme should be reviewed and decisions to discontinue the concessionary licences made at a time that would "disadvantage as few current residents as possible".
The proposals will be discussed at a meeting of the executive committee on Tuesday, February 5.
