WAVERLEY Borough Council has won the Best Shire District website category at the 2016 Society of Information Technology Management Better Connected Awards.

Topics judged included: objecting to a planning application, paying council tax, reporting a missed bin and the usability of the site from a mobile device. Overall, the website was rated four out of four, the highest grading possible.

The redesigned website works bettern with mobile phones and tablets, as well as being more user-friendly and easier to navigate. It introduced pink buttons on every homepage to help customers find key information easily.

WBC executive director Paul Wenham said “We are always looking for ways to improve the site so we’d love to hear from anyone who has any ideas on how to make it even better.”
