Wayne Goddard of Bordon is through to the National Schoolboys Championship semi-finals in the under-60kg category after making short work of his opponent at Bristol on Saturday.
The Bordon Boxing Club star won his quarter-final in just 30 seconds.
Coming up against Chris Astley of Broadplain, Goddard stormed out of his corner with a series of good head-shots and combination body punches.
The barrage was too much for Astley and, after the referee had given him a standing count of eight, his corner threw in the towel.
Goddard has no illusions about the tough task ahead of him in the national semi-finals at Datchett, near Windsor on Februruary 23.
He will be up against last year's national champion, the hard-hitting Ryan Pickard of London's renowned Repton Boxing Club.
So its back to the gym and more hard preparation with his trainers, Colin Bicknell and Gary Mitchell.
