HUNDREDS of people braved the rain on Sunday to pay tribute to Petersfield’s war dead.

Cadets and myriad town-based groups such as young Brownies and Scouts gathered in the car park off Swan Street before parading to the town square for a service of remembrance.

And as silent onlookers gathered at the bottom of the High Street, civic dignataries laid wreaths at the foot of the war memorial to pay their respects to the men and women who have died serving their country.
