After a run of match victories, Haslemere Border men faced tough competition at Guildford last weekend in the latest round of the Southern League Division Four West.
Border were weakened by unavailability and injury, but team spirit was high and every point was keenly fought over.
Wins were hard to come by, although John Dickinson Snr scored two first places in the 400m hurdles and pole vault.
Matt Cheyney, making his debut in the pole vault, did very well to win the 'B' string with 2.20m, while Michael Foster managed two personal bests of 12.6secs and 25.7secs in the 100m and 200m.
With a gap of three weeks until their next match, Border will be hoping to reassemble their winning team.
