LOTS of elves were seen at Tilford Meadow Nursery School... as well as a number of Santas and even a Christmas pudding.

Children and staff at the nursery dressed up to take part in a Woodland Christmas Elf Walk to raise money for Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.

But bad weather “got the better of us”, according to Carolyn Stidston, owner of CS Nursery Schools Ltd, so instead the nursery was transformed into a Christmas-themed obstacle course.

Each child was rewarded with a candy cane for completing the course.

More than £1,300 has been raised so far, with more donations still coming in.

Tilford Meadow Nursery School collected further donations for the hospice at its nativity play and the week culminated in a Christmas party.

The Woodland Christmas Elf Walk is usually held in the woodlands attached to the nursery where the children take part in forest school.

Some of the children did manage to brave the weather for forest school on the Friday, when they created festive mini Christmas trees.
