FRESH from its extensive refurbishment, the Memorial Hall in Farnham’s West Street is set to open its doors to blushing brides and gorgeous grooms next month.
The occasion is the hall’s inaugural wedding fayre on Sunday, February 3.
The event will take place in the main hall, which can also be hired for wedding receptions and other events, and will feature a variety of local wedding suppliers from a caterer to cake maker, florist to photographer, as well as a travel consultant, make-up artist and wedding consultant.
The new £3.27m health and wellbeing centre welcomed its tenants, Brightwells Gostrey Centre, last September.
As well as the main hall, other facilities include two activity rooms, a health and wellbeing suite, a terrace overlooking the Farnham Town’s football ground, a meeting room, two classrooms, and parking for up to 60 cars.
Jenny Else, Waverley Borough Council portfolio holder for health and wellbeing, culture and parks and countryside, said: “Aside from offering excellent, flexible space for meetings and group activities, the refurbished Memorial Hall really does lend itself well to key events such as wedding receptions.
“We’re happy to be able to show off the space by hosting the wedding fayre, as well as creating an opportunity for local suppliers to showcase their services and for brides and grooms to see what is available locally.”
The fayre opens at 11am and will close at 3pm, with free entry for visitors.
Guests will also receive a glass of prosecco and canapes on arrival, a goody bag and the chance to receive discounts when booking the hall for 2019-20.
