Wenceslas Project chairman Tony Burke said: “Thanks to the many donors who very kindly gave up all or a significant part of their personal winter fuel allowance.
“Thanks also go to the officers of Waverley Citizens’ Advice Bureau and the representatives of Sure Start in Farnham, Hale and Haslemere (Tennyson Centre) and Home/School Link Workers in Farnham, Tilford and Haslemere.
“We identified needy families and individuals for whom we settled their fuel accounts or topped up their pre-payment fuel cards, enabling well over 200 people to stay warm this winter.”
He added: “Donors should be reassured that every penny donated has been or is about to be distributed to the fuel needy in the neighbourhood.”
Farnham Lions has now raised £70,000 over the last four winters.
The Herald distributed fliers printed by Riverprint.
