THE governors and staff of Weyford Junior School were saddened to announce the death of Ros Langham on Friday, June 15, following her diagnosis of cancer earlier this year. The popular headteacher had recently been in St Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke, where she was cared for during the later stages of her illness. The school passed on its sincere condolences to her family and friends on their sad loss. Mrs Langham will be fondly remembered in the community, as for the last 16 years she has been headteacher at Weyford Juniors, and has been a significant part of many children's lives. During her time as headteacher she strongly believed and did her best for every child, to enable them to grow as people during their four years at the junior school. She was also adamant that each pupil should be given every opportunity to do their best academically. Weyford Junior School recently had an Ofsted inspection in which the leadership and management of the school was praised, and the governors said that this outcome was testament to the hard work and dedication that Mrs Langham showed to the school, pupils and staff through out her time at the school.
