If you would love to plant a fruit tree in your garden then book a date at Hogmoor Inclosure on Valentine’s Day.

The Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust has been given 60 apple trees to give away to residents in the GU35 area.

The specimens grown by local supplier Southern Fruit Trees will be available for collection around lunchtime on February 14 and 18.

While the trees are free a donation of £5 has been suggested while collection slots must be booked through the Trust’s www.wb-ct.org website. Collectors will also get a short brief on how to plant and care for their tree with workshops taking place on both days.

The 1.5-metre trees will rise around three feet in height when mature and will make an excellent addition to any garden.

The giveaway is part of the national Fruit Tree in Every Garden scheme while the WBCT are no strangers to branching out as they’ve planted more than 600 trees in the past four years.
