LINDFORD farmer George Watt (63) tried to throw his wife off a 25 ft high railway bridge after she told him she wanted a divorce, a court was told on Monday.

Watt, a former sheep farmer and former proprietor of Broxhead Motors, denies one charge of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent and a second count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The trial continues.
