BIRDWORLD opened its gates last Thursday to young cowboys and squaws who turned up for a great day of 'wild west' fun Throughout the day the children joined in music and games, races and competitions and won plenty of prizes to take home. Everyone got something even if they didn't win! According to a Birdworld spokesman, even the mums and dads joined in the contest to find "the fastest potato peeler in the West!". There was plenty to do - there were horse and carriage rides provided by Horse Drawn Occasions with their stunning horse called 'Bear' who was extremely popular; children dressed up and had their faces painted and after some fun on the Coca Cola football game and amusement rides, settled down to watch the magician Crazeehazee to rapturous applause. Even Birdworld mascot, 'Percy the Penguin' donned a cowboy hat and joined in with cowboy dance moves. The staff got into the spirit of the day by being part of a cowboy hunt where children had to hunt them down to find out clues. With marshal Mark and marshal Duncan of 'Birdworld Town' providing secret clues everyone had lots of fun and went home tired but happy.
