PUPILS at William Cobbett Primary School have joined in with the Surrey Hills CowParade, part of the world’s largest art event.

A ‘mini moo’ was delivered to the school in April and pupils have been busy painting the life-sized calf. A competition was held for pupils to design the art work for the ‘mini moo’ which will be displayed at Bourne Buildings on the Shepherd and Flock roundabout.

Paul Fitchett, the school premises manager and local photographer, sponsored the cow. “It has been great seeing how excited the children are about our cow, it has become a real community project. It will provide opportunities for the school to raise funds for enrichment projects.”

Cows will be displayed around Surrey from May to August with the first herd being launched at the Surrey County Show at Stoke Park on Monday, May 30.

Headteacher Julie Campbell would also like to point out a correction to some information that was printed in the Farnham Herald recently about the school’s admissions numbers for Y3. The school had a total of 126 applications for the 50 places at Y3 for September 2016; all 50 places offered were to first choice preferences.
