The traditional Shalden Village Fete will be hosted in the grounds of Shalden Park House on June 18 at 2pm.

For adults there will be stalls selling plants, cakes and books, a bottle tombola, a raffle and an auction of promises – including a trip for two on the Hampshire roads in an open-top Bentley, with lunch. There will also be a dog show, putting and skittles competitions, a Pimm’s tent, a barbecue, a classic car display and teas in the garden.

For children there will be a toy stall, a bouncy castle, plate smashing, and a teddy bear and coconut shy.

Admission is £1 (free for under-16s), and there is plenty of parking. Last year more than 350 people paid to get in, raising £3,500 for charity, and more than 100 under-16s also attended.
