A PENSIONER from Farnham has been named and shamed in the second week of Surrey Police’s summer drink and drug-driving crackdown.

Rosemary Lawler, 72, of Upper Bourne Lane, was stopped in Farnham and found to be over the prescribed drink drive limit.

She was charged with drink driving and released on bail to appear at Guildford Magistrates Court on July 5.

In total 10 people were charged in the second week of Operation Dragonfly, which sees officers actively looking for driving offences and behaviour behind the wheel that may be due to the driver’s consumption of intoxicating substances.

Surrey Police is proactively releasing the names of those who have been charged across the county.

Alongside the 10 people charged, a further eight have been arrested for drink or drug driving related offences – five are on bail pending further enquiries and three have been released without charge.
