A WOMAN was praised for tackling two burglars wearing crash helmets she surprised in her house, attacking one with an antique gun as they fled with a bag of her jewellery.

Jennifer Ospici, 64, had already kicked over the motorbike they left with the engine running outside the house, flooding the engine so it wouldn't go when they tried to get away.

The two, said to be "extremely frightened" of Mrs Ospici, ran up the road and she gave chase, managing to get hold of a rucksack strapped to the back of one of the men.
