A WOMAN was taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting by air ambulance last Thursday afternoon, after her car crashed into a tree on the A283 Petworth Road, near Chiddingfold Golf Club. Fire crews from Haslemere and Grayshott freed the woman, who was described by police as being in her 50s and who suffered multiple injuries to her abdomen, lower leg and upper arm. A crew from South East Coast Ambulance and Surrey Police also attended the accident, which happened at around 4pm. The road was closed until 7.30pm, causing tailbacks of traffic coming from the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
