WOMEN from Alton and the surrounding area will meet next week at St Lawrence Church for the international Women’s World Day of Prayer.

Open to everyone, this year’s service will take place at 2pm next Friday, March 2, and has been prepared by the Christian women of Suriname, with the theme ‘All God’s creation is very good!’.

Women’s World Day of Prayer is a worldwide movement, so there will be a wave of prayer through the world on that day, followed in 170 countries and in more than 60 languages.

This year, the service will be looking at the importance of caring for our environment as well as hearing about life in Suriname.

Event spokesman said Jennie Marlow: “We all share a vested interest in the sustainability of our world, so come and be a part of this service and enjoy a cup of tea afterward.”
