THE Woodlarks Centre has handed over a cheque for £130 to charity Children’s Homes in Kerala State, India (CHIKS).
Woodlarks, a residential care home for people with a range of disabilities based in Lodge Hill Road, held a cheese and wine evening in October to thank its volunteers, supporters and friends for their support running the successful summer fete and throughout the year.
The Mayor of Farnham, Mike Hodge, was the guest of honour and a fun raffle was held in aid of CHIKS, organised by one of the Woodlarks residents.
CHIKS was set up in the late 1990s by former Farnham Herald editor Robin Radley to give a home to Indian orphans, and today cares for more than 200 children across three orphanages.
The raffle raised £130 towards clothing for the orphans and was handed over to Mr Radley, the charity’s chairman, on Friday, October 27.
