WORK has started on the Chandos Lodge site.

Having received planning permission in July 2008 to build 110 open market and 62 affordable homes on the 6.45-hectare site to the rear of Chandos Lodge in London Road, the development was put on hold by Persimmon Homes in 2009 because of the economic crisis.
