YOBS smashed 10 windows at Petersfield's Citizens Advice Bureau while 15 cars were targeted in a residential road during a weekend of vandalism. CAB's Heath Road headquarters were targeted on Sunday night while many cars on Rushes Road had windscreen wipers either bent or wrenched off on Friday. On the same night, two men were spotted smashing the windows of a car in Lavant Street. They also prised open the bonnet and kicked in the doors before making off. Police were called to the scene but the men had left prior to their arrival. The criminal activity continued on Saturday night when, at around 1-30 am, a group of youths were seen damaging the fence outside Churcher's College. Several panels were snapped off and thrown around. And early last week police were called to Borough Road where yobs had thrown rocks at the window of an excavator. Two weeks ago freshly planted trees at The Avenue Pavilion were sawed in half leading to an outcry from contractor Christian Dupont. At the time, he told The Herald: "I'm sick of these people. Every time we try and do something for this town, somebody comes along and wrecks it. The cost is not really the issue, I just don't understand the mentality of the people who do this. It's pathetic." Anyone with any information about any of the incidents should call Petersfield Police station on 0845 0454545.
