YOBS left a trail of destruction through Bordon on Monday night when they threw eggs and flour over 19 parked cars.

Stunned residents in Chalet Hill and in Woodside Park awoke on Tuesday morning and discovered the wrecking spree which also saw bins turned over and rubbish strewn in the street.

The trail of destruction stemmed as far as Heathcote Road and the Forest Shopping Centre.

A large number of eggs were thrown on the ground in the alleyway from Heathcote Road which runs next to Martins, and some eggs were also thrown at the centre's doors.

Acting Sergeant Steve Kincaid said: "Some of this anti-social behaviour we see in Bordon are not criminal acts but it is a quality of life issue."

Monday night's egg and flour attacks follow a weekend of misery for some local residents.

A Liphook family came home to their worst nightmare on Monday morning when they discovered their house had been flooded by malicious vandals.

The incident took place sometime between Friday and Monday at their home in Haslemere Road.

"The offenders pulled the garden hose pipe from the rear of the house and and stuck it through the door and turned the water on," explained Sgt Kincaid: "This is just mindless vandalism."

Over the weekend a large number of cars were broken into and contents left inside were stolen.

Sgt Kincaid urged motorists to remove temptation from thieves and never leave anything in their cars or leave them unsecured.

"I know that people should be able to leave things in their car but if there is nothing in the car then there is not that temptation," he said.

The officer told The Herald that Whitehill officers were doing all they could to tackle vandalism and anti-social behaviour, especially over the school holidays.

He said that they were attempting to increase their presence at regular trouble spots - namely the Forest Shopping Centre and Tesco's car park.

Anyone with any information about the vandalism or thefts is asked to contact Whitehill police station on 0845 045 45 45.
