YOUNG explorers are invited to The Gilbert White Field Studies Centre in Selborne next week for a ‘wild woods sleepover’.

Part of the National Museums at Night Festival, the Selborne experience on Friday, May 13, offers “an evening of exciting activities and crafts exploring the woodland and what lives there, culminating in a campfire cooked supper, night time nature walk, and a sleepover in tents in the centre’s 16th Century barn”.

“Don’t forget your torch!” said a spokesman.

The sleepover event takes place from 6pm on Friday through to 9am on Saturday morning and is suitable for children aged five and older, all of whom must be accompanied by an adult.

The cost is £15 and places can be booked by calling 01420 511517.
